Da Vinci Center is Dino-mite!
What: Da Vinci Center (2021 review and prices)
Where: 3145 Hamilton Blvd
Allentown, PA 18103
On the campus of Cedar Crest College
Ages: any but most appropriate for 4 and up (it also depends on the current display
Price: adults and kids over 3: $14.95 per person, under 3 is free. Membership prices $45 per person for a year. Family pass for 2 adults and up to 4 children is $89. We actually put the money for today’s tickets towards a pass, and it was only 29.20 cents more.
Da Vinci center is an interactive wonderland for kids to enjoy. Their displays change from time to time, but there are always mainstays which are my children’s favorites (age 6 and 5)! Often the displays and interactive science exhibits are for older children, but there’s always exhibits for the younger children to enjoy!
Crowded level: depending on the day/time it can be crowded so kids have to wait their turn, but on weekdays it’s not as busy as the weekends.
Cleanliness: very clean, just make sure you wash your hands or sanitize (they have sanitizers on the walls) since everything is touch!
Time: set aside 1-4 hours depending on how much your children interact.
Facilities: There are nice bathrooms that include diaper changing tables and stools for kids to reach the sinks.
There are a couple vending machines.
There are also classrooms for summer camps, field trips, and other separate activities.
They are building a new center in Allentown near the ppl building set to open in 2023-2024. This will give them more room for more exhibits.
Dino exhibit: today we visited to see the dinosaur exhibit! Overall, it was more interactive than I expected, but also less dinosaurs than I expected. There were no long necked dinosaurs (I’m guessing because of their massive size), but they did have several other dinosaurs I was not familiar with.
We also enjoyed coloring pictures and watching the dinosaurs come to life!
They also have a dinosaur puzzle, fossils spread out throughout, and some prehistoric animals and information.
Overall: if you plan on going more than once a year, you might as well pay for a family membership (unless you have children under 3 who are free but may not enjoy it as much). The DA Vinci center is great for a cold or rainy day! Check out the site for current exhibits and prices as they change!
Hope you enjoyed this post- more places and playground reviews in the valley coming soon!
